Rapper Tyga was arrested for an alleged domestic abuse incident, police said.

The 31-year-old rapper, whose real name is Michael Stevenson, turned himself in to the Los Angeles Police Department’s Hollywood precinct Tuesday morning, public information officer Lizeth Lomeli confirmed to USA TODAY. Officers first responded to the domestic violence incident early Monday.

The “Taste” singer was booked for felony domestic violence, according to a statement from LAPD’s social media account. The authenticity of the tweet was confirmed by an LAPD representative to USA TODAY.

Stevenson was released after posting a $50,000 bond, jail records showed.

“The allegations you have been reading about our client the past few days are false,” claimed Stevenson’s rep Jack Ketsoyan in a statement to USA TODAY.

His rep added the allegations “will be disproven.”

Stevenson’s Tuesday arrest came one day after his ex-girlfriend Camaryn Swanson shared photos of alleged abuse to her Instagram Story. Swanson wrote Monday she was “physically assaulted,” although she didn’t name Stevenson specifically.

LAPD would not confirm the parties involved in the alleged altercation with Stevenson.

“I’ve been emotionally, mentally and physically abused and I’m not hiding it anymore,” Swanson wrote alongside a photo of herself with a bruised eye. In another photo, she added, “I’m so embarrassed and ashamed it had to get to this but I have to stand up for myself.”

On Wednesday, Swanson shared another message on social media explaining she only went public with her allegations after “someone” spread a “false narrative” that “painted me to be somebody I’m not.”

“My intentions were never to go public with this,” she wrote on her Instagram Story. “I took matters into my own hands and posted the TRUTH with proof.”

Swanson thanked supporters for “the outstanding amount of love and support” she’s received.

USA TODAY reached out to Swanson for comment.

Stevenson and Swanson went Instagram official with their relationship in February. The couple has since deleted photos of each other from their respective social media accounts.

The rapper previously dated Kylie Jenner from 2015-2017 and shares 8-year-old son King Cairo with model Blac Chyna, which he dated from 2011-2014.

If you are a victim of domestic violence, the National Domestic Violence Hotline allows you to speak confidentially with trained advocates online or by the phone, which they recommend for those who think their online activity is being monitored by their abuser (800-799-7233). They can help survivors develop a plan to achieve safety for themselves and their children.

Safe Horizon’s hotline offers crisis counseling, safety planning, and assistance finding shelters: 800-621-HOPE (4673). It has a chat feature where you can reach out for help from a computer or phone confidentially.

Survivors can call the New York City Anti-Violence Project’s 24/7 English/Spanish hotline at 212-714-1141 and get support. If calling is not safe, but email is possible, make a report at avp.org/get-help and leave safe contact information, and someone will reach out.
