Queen Elizabeth II passes away; Kareena Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and others pay tribute

Queen Elizabeth ll passed away in Scotland on September 8. She was 96 at the time of her death. She was reportedly the longest reigning British monarch in history. The Royal Family in a statement announced the news, sharing that, “The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon.” 

The news of her demise came as a shock to many around the world. Among those mourning the loss are Bollywood celebrities who took to social media to express their sadness and pay tribute to the late queen. 

Kareena Kapoor took to her Instagram stories to share a picture of the Queen with a heart emoji. 

Anushka Sharma also shared a photo of the Queen and wrote “Rest in Grace”. Check it out here: 

Meanwhile, Sushmita Sen penned down her thoughts in a post captioned, “What an incredible & truly celebrated life!!! She loved colours & lived every shade of it, in a single lifetime…The very embodiment of QUEEN!!! Rest in peace Queen Elizabeth ll”

Riteish Deshmukh dropped a Tweet that read, “End of an era!! Through the toughest times she never let got of her dignity. Today is indeed a sad day, condolences to the family and the people of UK. #QueenElizabethII” 

Shilpa Shetty also posted an Instagram story that reads, “What an incredibly inspiring journey your life has been! It was an honour to have been in such august company. REST IN PEACE QUEEN ELIZABETH II” 

Queen Elizabeth ll reportedly had health issues since October last year and was under medical supervision. Her son Charles, 73,  is now the King.
