Queen Camilla wears symbolic brooch in Germany today

At the central station in Berlin, Germany, they were welcomed by Deutsche Bahn CEO Richard Lutz, the president of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier and his wife. Charles and Camilla are currently on a three-day tour around Germany to strengthen the relationship and maintain strong ties between the counties.

Queen Camilla opted for one of her favourite long coats in navy, her go-to black boots and a matching handbag.

The monarch accessorised the look with a diamond and sapphire brooch that belonged to the late Queen Elizabeth.

Camilla seemed to be paying a subtle tribute to the late Queen by wearing one of her most loved pieces of jewellery.

The Queen Consort recently sported the brooch to attend the service in honour of Commonwealth Day earlier this month.

The diamond and sapphire brooch, also known as the Russian Sapphire Cluster Brooch, is the jewel Camilla chose for her first appearance since Queen Elizabeth died last September.

The stunning piece, trimmed with diamonds, was one of the late Queen’s favourites, who wore it on many occasions over the years.

The Russian Sapphire Cluster Brooch originally belonged to the Queen Consort of Russia’s Tsar Alexander III and the mother of Tsar Nicholas II, Marie Feodorovna.

Queen Marie was the sister of Queen Alexandra, the wife of King Edward VII who was Queen Elizabeth II’s great-grandfather.
