He acts as back-up to the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi but could resurrect his career at Juventus.

The Serie A side will pay £2million to sign the Argentine on loan, according to Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

And should his spell in Turin be a successful one Juventus could make his move permanent for an additional £30m.

Icardi was also linked with a move to the Old Lady last summer and was said to be ‘open’ to the switch.

Max Allegri’s side have lacked a goalscorer since the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo last summer.

Paulo Dybala tops the goalscoring charts currently with eight goals, one ahead of Alvaro Morata.

But with Morata rumoured to be leaving Icardi could arrive as his replacement.

Barcelona have lined up a move for the Spaniard having already bolstered their attack with the signing of Ferran Torres.

And Tottenham have aso been linked to Morata as a potential replacement for Harry Kane should the England captain leave.
