PS5 surprise update: How to download new PlayStation Store game experience today

THIS week has seen a brand new PS4 and PS5 game experience released for free on the PlayStation Store. Here’s how you can download the Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War trial today.

A brand new game experience is available on PlayStation consoles that will be sticking around over the coming days.

PS4 and PS5 gamers can enjoy Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War at no extra charge until Thursday, July 29.

The trial is also available on PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X devices, meaning you can enjoy crossplay with friends.

The free access period only includes a selection of modes, meaning you won’t be able to play through the single-player campaign.

And anyone who picks up the full game after the trial ends will find all their Black Ops Cold War weapons and global-level progress intact, and any progress earned during the trial will carry right over to Warzone and Cold War.

The one main difference between the PlayStation, PC and Xbox test is that the PS4 and PS5 version comes with an exclusive mode.

PlayStation players can jump into Onslaught mode, featuring a two-person team fighting off zombies across Multiplayer maps. Stick close to the Dark Aether orb and try not to get overwhelmed. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.

To download this new experience, the Call of Duty Cold War free access can be found by searching on the PlayStation Store.

You might find the full game page, where there should also be an option to download a smaller and free version.

Additionally, the official demo can also be found by searching on the PlayStation Store web page.
