Niantic has announced details for this year’s Pokemon Go Fest–the annual live meet-up of Pokemon Go fans from around the world–with this year’s festivities taking place in London, Osaka, and finally in New York City.
The first two legs of Pokemon Go Fest 2023’s live events will happen simultaneously in London, England and Osaka, Japan August 4-6, while the final stop on the live tour will be Randall’s Island Park in New York City August 18-20. A worldwide in-game event is scheduled for the following weekend, August 26-27.
A new blog post on the official Pokemon Go Fest website has released full details on what players can expect during the New York event, which includes the following:
- Diancie, a Mythical Pokémon, will make its debut in Pokemon Go.
- Carbink will also make its Pokemon Go debut.
- Sigilyph, which normally only appears in Greece and Egypt, will appear in North America for the first time ever.
- Three new Shiny Pokemon, Unown, Golett, and Skrelp, will be available to catch.
- Skrelp and Golett will be making their Pokemon Go debut, while Shiny Unown will appear during the London and Osaka live events.
- Pikachu and Eevee will appear at Randall’s Island Park for photo ops.
Players who purchase tickets to the event will also have access to special in-game perks anywhere in New York City from 9 AM ET to 7 PM ET on their ticketed date. Those perks are as follows:
- Eggs placed in Incubators will require half of the normal walking distance to hatch
- Candy earned from catching Pokemon will be doubled
- The number of daily Special Trades will increase to six
- All trades will have a reduced Stardust cost
- Spinning Photo Discs at Gyms will earn up to 9 additional free Raid Passes
Pokemon Go is available to download for free on iOS and Android devices. Tickets to Pokemon Go Fest in NYC are available now until June 15 at a special early bird price of $25, after which the price will increase to $30. If you’re only interested in the in-game event, those tickets are available for $15.
