Piers Morgan has shared a tribute after learning of the death of an old teacher.

Retweeting another tribute, Piers said: ‘So sorry to hear this. Mrs Beavers, as we all called her, was a legendary figure so many journalism students like me at Harlow.

‘A wonderful lady. RIP.’

Piers attended college in Harlow, Essex, before going on to work for local and then national newspapers.

The star was also known for presenting on GMB alongside Susanna Reid, but left in March last year following comments about Meghan Markle, which he was later cleared by Ofcom for.

Following a break from TV, he’s set to make his return when he launches his TalkTV show in spring.

While an exact launch date has yet to be confirmed, he will be broadcasting daily to the UK, Australia, and the US, with his programme including opinion, debate, and big interviews.

The 56-year-old presenter teased what viewers can expect as he made an appearance on the BBC’s new current affairs programme Sunday Morning to review the papers.

Talking to Sophie Raworth, he said: ‘I am launching a new global daily TV show for Rupert Murdoch’s news corporation in America, starting in the spring.

‘It will air daily in the UK, daily in the US, and in Australia daily as well so I will be a tri-continental irritant which is something I have been aspiring to be for quite some time.

‘It’s going to be opinion, debate, big interviews, so if you’ve missed me on morning TV, I’m sorry but I’ll be back very soon. If you haven’t missed me, I’m not sorry.’
