Phillip Schofield’s marriage to Stephanie Lowe revisited as he admits to affair
Phillip Schofield, 61, has now admitted to cheating on his wife of 30 years, Stephanie Lowe, 59, in a sensational statement, which also saw him part ways with ITV.
In a statement to The Daily Mail, the former This Morning presenter admitted that he “did have a consensual on-off relationship with a younger male colleague at This Morning”, adding that the relationship, which took place while he was still married to Stephanie “was unwise, but not illegal”.
He added an apology to his wife and colleagues: “I am painfully conscious that I have lied to my employers at ITV, to my colleagues and friends, to my agents, to the media and therefore the public and most importantly of all to my family.
“I am so very, very sorry, as I am for having been unfaithful to my wife.”
Phillip and Stephanie got married in 1993 at Ackergill Tower in Scotland after meeting whilst they were at the BBC.

Phil worked in children’s television and Stephanie worked as a production assistant.
Even when Phil publicly announced that he was gay, Stephanie stood by his side and supported him.
The mother-of-two then followed up to announce that the two had separated in 2020, but stated that she still loved him.
She told The Sun: “I love Phillip, as much today as I ever have, and always will.
“Our family have also been so supportive and will help us going forward.”
Stephanie added: “Although this is difficult for us all, I support Phillip in taking this brave step. I will still be there, holding his hand.
“Everyone should be proud to live their own truth,” she continued.
Phil revealed his own sexuality on Instagram, which saw many fans and colleagues, including his former co-presenter Holly Willoughby, 42, share their support.
The former Dancing On Ice presenter wrote on his account in 2020: “You never know what’s going on in someone’s seemingly perfect life, what issues they are struggling with, or the state of their wellbeing – and so you won’t know what has been consuming me for the last few years.
“With the strength and support of my wife and my daughters, I have been coming to terms with the fact that I am gay.”
In the aftermath of Phillip’s announcement on his sexuality, the presenter shared on the How To Wow podcast with Chris Evans that he and Stephanie were not divorced.
He said in October 2020 on the podcast: “We’re still married. With divorce…we’ve not discussed that at all.”
He later moved out of the Henley-On-Thames family home and was reported as living in Chiswick in West London.
The couple shares two daughters, Molly born in 1993, and Ruby in 1996.
Despite their separation, the family have appeared in public events together including Keith Lemon’s birthday party earlier this year.
However, as confirmed earlier today, Phil has parted ways with his ITV family and agency YMU.
Although he was set to host an unconfirmed prime-time show, the TV star revealed that he had left ITV completely and would also not present the British Soap Awards next week as previously scheduled.
Mary Bekhait, the Group CEO of YMU Group shared that the team had parted with Phillip “with immediate effect” following new information that contradicted his previous statements.
