MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Blu Girls dominated India, 10-0, to secure a spot in the Battle for Bronze in the Women Softball Asia Cup was postponed on Thursday at LNG Songdo Stadium in Incheon, South Korea.

The Blu Girls hardly missed a beat a day after their game was postponed due to poor weather conditions as they blanked the winless Indians in just four innings with pitchers Glory Alonzo and Kikay Palma showing the way.

Charlotte Sales and Celyn Ojare also led the Blu Girls, while MJ Maguad, Arianne Vallestero, and Khrisha Cantor put on the finishing touches in the game to advance to the bronze medal match.

The top three teams of the tournament will advance to the XVIII WBSC Women’s Softball World Cup.

The tournament has scrapped the semifinals series as the top two teams will clash in the Finals on April 8, while the third and fourth seed squads clash for third place.

The Philippines will play in the battle for third also on Saturday, eyeing to seal its eighth appearance in the Women’s Softball World Cup — its first since 2018.

The Blu Girls end their preliminary round-robin campaign against defending champion Japan on Friday.
