Creator Niall Quinn, who made the post, said the hack was one many “never knew existed”.

In the clip, Quinn demonstrated on screen how the fonts can be altered to become bold, italicised or underscored.

“Put in an asterisk either side to make it bold,” he began.

He then explains they can “put a squiggly line either side to make a strike through” and “use underscores to Italicise”.

“There you go.”

The video has so far received more than 73,000 likes and 1300 comments.

However, users were divided on whether or not the trick was one that was already well known.

“How’s that a hack?” one questioned.

“You did not just discover this, this has been a thing for years,” another added.

Others were more appreciative saying the codes were “the best” and left them “grateful” for the video.

Quinn’s efforts come after users were urged to update their app on Friday after major keyboard bug was fixed.

The problem involved the app crashing for Android when configuring avatars, accessing the privacy section and adding text over images.
