Partner Content | Lakers vs. Mavericks prop picks: Bet on Luka, AD to go off
For the first time since Kyrie Irving joined the Mavericks, Dallas will face LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers.
The pregame narrative: Josh Green has a far greater presence with the new-look Mavericks, making him a value play for today’s matchup. We also like Irving’s chances of producing solid all-around stats based on how he’s fared so far in Dallas.

Lakers vs. Mavericks prop picks
Best Bet : Green over 1.5 threes (+118)
We’ll get to some of the bigger names in this matchup momentarily, but Green needn’t be overlooked.
The 22-year-old Aussie has been a starter in every game since the Dorian Finney-Smith and Spencer Dinwiddie skipped town, and he’s helped fill their void in terms of outside shooting.
Here’s a look at Green’s productivity since the Irving trade was finalized on Feb. 6:
- Pre-trade (33 games): 22.6 minutes, 1.0 threes per game on 2.3 attempts
- Post-trade (7 games): 35.5 minutes, 2.1 threes per game on 5.1 attempts
Before Dallas’s roster reconstruction, Green was barely attempting enough threes per game to make this prop possible. He’s now attempted four or more 3-pointers in eight consecutive games, after only doing that five previous times all season.
We expect more volume from Green tonight against a Lakers defence that allows 36.6 attempted threes per game (fifth-most in the NBA).
Key stat: Green has scored multiple 3-pointers in five of seven games since the Irving trade.
Quick picks
Doncic, AD to both record double-doubles (+185) : Let’s show a little love to one of today’s NorthStar Specials, shall we?
On one side we have Anthony Davis, who averages 25.6 points and 12.8 rebounds — making him an excellent bet for a double-double on any given night. He has a double-double in 27 of 34 non-injury-shortened games and is riding a five-game streak right now.
Doncic is not nearly as consistent in that regard, but he averages more than 8.0 assists and rebounds per night. That means he can complete this task in a few different ways. Doncic has 11 double-doubles in his past 20 games, and he went for a triple-double last time out versus the Lakers.
Irving over 35.5 P+R+A (-122) : Perhaps Irving’s five-game sample can’t tell us much about his long-term performance outlook with the Mavs, but he’s off to a productive start.
He’s averaging 38.0 PRA so far, clearing this line in three of his past four games. On the season, Irving has gone over this PRA line 57.8% of the time (26 of 45 games).
One of the last teams Irving saw before his departure from the Nets was L.A., and he put up 26 points, seven rebounds and six assists in that Jan. 30 game.
