Online grocery is part of the new normal, survey finds

A report from BofA Global Research highlights the emerging trends in ecommerce across fashion, grocery, health-tech, and ultra-fast commerce as of April 2022. It said online grocery ordering will become a part of the new normal even as consumers re-adjust their buying behaviour and shift some of their purchases offline.

As for the buzzy ultra-fast grocery delivery segment, 44% of respondents said they had tried using a 10-minute delivery service for ordering important items, and 23% said they were likely to use one in the future. Myntra and PharmEasy led on consumer preference in online fashion and pharmacy, the survey found.

Thirty-five percent were aged 18 to 29 years, 37% were 30 to 44 years old, 19% were 45-60, and 9% were over 60. In terms of income levels/sources, the sample was largely representative of the Indian middle class.
