OnePlus 10R leaks with Dimensity 9000 allegedly under the hood

TL;DR

  • The OnePlus 10R just leaked.
  • The leak has specs and information on a vague release schedule.
  • It is unlikely the phone would land anywhere but China and India.

In 2021, OnePlus dropped its first “R” phone with the OnePlus 9R. This phone was exclusive to China and India and represented the lowest-tier device in the OnePlus 9 series. The company followed it up with the OnePlus 9RT, which launched at the end of last year.

According to the leaker, the 10R could come with the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 under the hood. This is interesting news as the OnePlus 9R and 9RT both came with Qualcomm chipsets, just like the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro. We already know the OnePlus 10 Pro has the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, so it’s strange to see a MediaTek CPU for the OnePlus 10R.

Elsewhere, the 10R could have a 120Hz AMOLED display, at least 8GB of RAM, and at least 128GB of storage.

The source contends OnePlus might launch the OnePlus 10R towards the end of Q2 2022. This delay is likely to avoid the 10R cannibalizing sales of the 9RT, which only just launched in India.

Interestingly, we still have no information on the vanilla OnePlus 10. It’s possible we could see the 10 Pro and 10R launch before we see a vanilla model anywhere.

Android Central says it could have camera details for the OnePlus 10R soon, so stay tuned for that.
