Tensions rose to a peak on Monday night surrounding the rumoured feud between former friends Olivia Wilde, 39, and Emily Ratajkowski, 31, with fans of both stars eagerly awaiting a potential clash on the Met Gala red carpet.
In March, Emily was seen kissing Harry Styles, 29, just four months after he and Olivia had broken up.
A source told The Sun on Sunday that the director felt “betrayed” and that the women had not spoken since the pictures were made public.
Fans believed the row would come to a head on the carpet of fashion’s biggest night as both leading ladies were expected to attend, although Harry had already confirmed he would be missing out on the potentially awkward moment.
Emily arrived at the star-studded event in New York City in an eye-popping gown by Tory Burch featuring a daringly-low neckline and dainty black ribbons cinching the dusty pink chiffon to her flawless figure.

The model posed for photographers as tensions mounted, with eagle-eyed fans carefully watching the entrance hall.
However, by the time Emily had whisked her wavy brunette hair up the steps and off the carpet, Olivia had still not arrived.
The director finally appeared a few minutes after Emily’s iconic smokey-eye had disappeared from view.
However, in her first Met Gala appearance in seven years, Olivia still demanded the attention of all the nearby cameras.
The director paid tribute to the night’s theme, a tribute to Karl Lagerfeld, in a dress designed by the late fashion icon himself.
The white and gold dress was originally designed in 1983, with a reissue in 2013 releasing just 60 of these dresses.
Olivia flaunted her toned physique in the floor-length white gown with cut-outs around her waist, highlighting her enviable figure.
While the two A-listers will still be in the same room for dinner and exploring the exhibits with the hundreds of other guests, they will definitely not be bumping into the former One Direction singer.
Before the event, Harry revealed he would not be at this year’s event despite being a standout attendee in previous years.
The English singer is currently touring Europe and could not appear due to his work, but a source told The Sun on Sunday that the conflicting schedules was a “welcome relief” as it will take away the “buzz around him rubbing shoulders with Emily and all his exes”.
Following the steamy smooch between Emily and Harry, the model told Vogue Spain that the bump in her friendship with Olivia is “an unfortunate issue” simply adding: “That’s how it is”.
A source later told the Daily Mail that Emily and Olivia “have not had any confrontation” simply because they are no longer on speaking terms.
