NRL to question second Panther over trio’s GF border breach

Penrith utility Tyrone May will be interviewed by the NRL Integrity Unit as part of the league’s investigation into whether the Panthers had links to an alleged border breach from a group of men from New South Wales.

The Sydney Morning Herald is reporting that May is now the second player to be involved in talks with the Integrity Unit after it was revealed last week that superstar Panther Nathan Cleary would also be questioned.

Both May and Cleary will speak with NRL Integrity Unit officials tomorrow.

Three men, who are aged 23, 24 and 25, were allegedly pictured on social media joining in on the Panthers’ celebrations.

Queensland Police fined the three men for allegedly using “incorrect border passes” to cross the border on the Pacific Highway the day before last weekend’s grand final.

There is no suggestion May or Cleary knew about the men’s alleged border breach

Nine News’ James Wilson revealed last week that Cleary is a roommate of one of the men involved in the alleged border breach.

In vision obtained by Nine News, the alleged trio could be seen alongside members of Cleary’s family at Suncorp Stadium.

“Nathan Cleary’s Western Sydney mates, side-by-side with his family at the game and on a Queensland beach,” Wilson told Nine News.
