New Amazon Fire TV Stick Max will fix the biggest issue with streaming

Amazon is back with a new Fire TV Stick and it could fix the biggest problem with online streaming. The all-new Fire TV Stick 4K Max is not only 40 percent faster than its predecessor thanks to more RAM and a quicker processor but it also features speedy Wi-Fi 6 technology. That means it is capable of streaming content at much faster speeds and should end the annoyance of buffering when trying to watch a movie in the ultimate 4K Ultra HD resolution.

Streaming a show in standard definition only needs an internet connection of around 3Mbps but this jumps to at least 25Mbps when you switch to 4K with some providers recommending at least 50Mbps for a stutter-free experience. Wi-Fi 6 is the next-generation of broadband technology and with more homes moving over to this upgrade it makes sure the Fire TV Stick is now future-proofed.

Along with those new upgrades, the Max gets all the usual features we’ve come to expect from the Fire Stick range including full compatibility with HDR, and HDR10+ streaming, as well as Dolby Atmos audio.

Once plugging into your telly you’ll get access to usual platforms including Netflix, NOW, YouTube, Prime Video, Disney+, Apple TV, YouTube, Sky News and BT Sport.

And you can also listen to songs, playlists, live radio stations, and podcasts through services like Amazon Music, Spotify, and Apple Music.

If you fancy one, Fire TV Stick 4K Max will be available for pre-order starting today for £54.99 and will begin shipping to customers on October 7.

News of this release comes as Amazon is rumoured to be gearing up to launch its first officially branded 4K TV in the US next month. The online retail giant has dipped its toes into this area before, launching an Amazon Basics branded TV in India as well as partnering with manufacturers like JVC to release tellies powered by the Fire TV software. However, the inbound product – which is expected to launch next month – is the first high-end TV that will feature the Amazon badge on it.
