Netflix Introduced 4 New Games in July 2023 Including Sonic Prime Dash, Oxenfree 2, the Queen’s Gambit Chess, and More

Netflix Games has been relentless in its pursuit of expanding its library of games available for its users. The OTT platform has introduced four new games this month, including Oxenfree II: Lost Signals, Sonic Prime Dash, Too Hot To Handle 2, and The Queen’s Gambit Chess. The chess game, based on Netflix’s show starring Anya Taylor-Joy, was released yesterday. Netflix Games currently has over 60 games to offer its members.

Netflix July 2023 games

Netflix acquired Night School Studio in September 2021, which was its first-ever game company acquisition. Since then, Netflix has expanded its studios by acquiring Finnish mobile dev Next Games, and Dungeon Boss studio Boss Fight Entertainment, along with opening two internal studios in Finland and Southern California, US.

Oxenfree II: Lost Signals

Oxenfree II: Lost Signals was the first addition from Netflix Games to its library this month, and it was added on July 12. Night School Studio’s successful indie game has now received a sequel. Oxenfree II: Lost Signals is a horror game featuring supernatural elements, and this adventure game is not only made for mobile but is also available on PS4, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch.

Sonic Prime Dash

Netflix’s Sonic Prime series finally got its game as well when Sonic Prime Dash was released on July 13. This endless runner game features Sonic along with other characters from the show as playable characters. Sonic Prime Dash also features a leaderboard, which allows players to compare their scores with their friends for bragging rights.

Too Hot To Handle 2

Too Hot To Handle 2 is based on the dating reality show and serves as a sequel to the previous game in the series. Developer by Nanobit, the game allows players to create their own characters and date other characters in the game.

The Queen’s Gambit Chess

The Queen’s Gambit Chess, based on the Netflix series The Queen’s Gambit, is a chess game and also contains several puzzle-solving gameplay aspects as well. Players can also compete with their friends through online chess matches.

As mentioned above, Netflix subscribers have access to over 60 games currently. That number will be expanding rapidly this year itself, as Netflix has already announced plans to release 40 more games in 2023. Netflix also revealed that it has a total of 126 games in development.
