Having good neighbours can be a blessing – and having bad ones can make life pretty miserable.
One guy took to Reddit with his own neighbour nightmare, calling his post “Am I the a****** for telling my neighbours to stop using my garden path as their own walkway?”
He explained that he caught the person next door using his garden path to get to the street.
The man had only moved into the house at Christmas, and shared that he had only just gotten around to installing his Ring doorbell, which allows homeowners to see what’s going on outside their front door.
He was “surprised” to find that his neighbour uses the pathway in his garden to get from their own house to the street.

He explained that while they have their own driveway and pathway to the street, they use his pathway as a shortcut.
When he confronted his neighbour, they argued that by law he was entitled to use the path.
The fed up neighbour continued: “I’ve had a look at the deeds to my house and there is a mention of a shared pathway, but that’s only for the pathway between the houses.”
However, he added that his neighbours’ kids are also partial to running across his garden and playing with his plants – which their mother doesn’t tell them off for.
He concluded: “Feel like I’m being ‘that’ d**khead neighbour but also don’t want random people walking into my garden!”
Plenty of Reddit users flocked to his rescue, telling him he was not the “a******” for wanting sole access to his own garden path.
One user advised: “Find out exactly what path is ‘shared’ and make sure they know which one it is too. Then legally enforce your property rights.
“Get motion-activated sprinklers for your garden to drive their kids out. Disrespectful, little weasels.”
Another suggested: “I’d get a fence, even if it is just a small decorative one to show where your boundary is.
“They need to stay OUT of the garden, even if they are allowed to be on the path.”
