Naked Education hit with hundreds of Ofcom complaints after viewers slam show
Channel 4’s latest series Naked Education has been hit with over 900 Ofcom complaints.
The show, hosted by Anna Richardson, Dr Alex George and Yinka Bokinni, aims to detangle teenagers’ relationships with their bodies by showing them nude adults and having some pretty frank discussions.
Some viewers felt ‘uncomfortable’ at the concept, which aims to promote body positivity.
In the first episode, blasted the show for showing the teens naked bodies of strangers.
One person seethed: ‘Channel 4 Naked Education is NOT it. Showing children under 16 MINORS, people, strangers I should say, standing fully naked in front of them. WHY? Absolutely not. They do NOT need to see strangers fully naked to be educated on the body.’
‘Not being funny but how is it allowed that old grown men are able to stand in front of 14 and 15-year-old kids fully naked I don’t even care its an experiment,’ another added.
The television watchdog has so far received a staggering 930 complaints.
Speaking about the show earlier this week Anna, 52, said: ‘Naked Education is sort of one step further than Naked Attraction, as it says: “Let’s normalise bodies, let’s have the conversation about what we go through and let’s actually educate the nation.”
Anna recalled one particularly special scene on the show with Finn, who is transgender, who discussed having his penis surgically created and even showed the results on camera.
