Nadia Bartel slammed for lack of diversity in activewear photos

The embattled influencer has been hit with fresh wave of criticism over a series of new snaps that are missing an important detail.

Nadia Bartel has found herself at the centre of fresh criticism after being accused of failing to be inclusive in a series of snaps promoting a new activewear set for her fashion label Henne.

The embattled influencer recently returned to public life after laying low in the aftermath of that three-second “snorting” clip taken during Melbourne’s lockdown on September 2.

But after making a return to social media last month, the apologetic mum-of-two has angered followers with a series of photos promoting a new activewear for the brand she launched in 2019.

“Loving this pink set,’ she captioned the photos, taken at an official event hosted at Melbourne pilates studio Sum Of Us.

In the photos Nadia, 36, can be seen posing in a pink activewear set alongside nine other women in the same outfit.

The “pink edit” is a collaboration with the McGrath Foundation that sees 20 per cent of sales from the collection donated to help support individuals and families affected by breast cancer.

While the gym tights and crops that flaunt the women’s workout efforts look “amazing”, the lack of “diversity” among them angered some of Nadia’s 561,000 followers.

Comments under the images were quick to claim the former WAG had failed to be inclusive in her marketing.

“Just wondering if you also proudly support diversity or only size 6 figures?” one rattled follower asked.

“I wish I could see examples of how MY body type/size would look,” another stated.

“Well I guess I won’t be buying anything since it obviously doesn’t go past size 8,” another person said – prompting Nadia to respond.

“Women here are sized from size 6 to size 12 but these aren’t models, these are our Henne employees and one women who has suffered from breast cancer and her sister who also has the BRCA gene mutation,” she wrote.

But her response did little to stop the criticism, with one person suggesting she “only hires slim, white” women.

Others made sarcastic comments, applauding Nadia for being “super inclusive”.

“Well done, we all feel super seen, and makes total business sense,” one scoffed.

“Is your idea of diversity adding a pregnant woman into the mix?” another asked.

As one wrote: “#henneisforsize6whitewomen.”

There were also some who praised Nadia and women attending for supporting a “great cause”.

“Pretty sets and pretty powerful message,” one wrote.

Nadia’s life in the spotlight has been rocky recently, following the aftermath of being busted snorting a white substance in a video shared to social media which showed her breaching lockdown restrictions.

She issued an apology stating she was “truly and deeply” sorry for her actions, but the fallout was huge, losing brand partnerships and lucrative ambassador roles.

News.com.au has contacted Ms Bartel for comment.
