Activision is getting ready to release the Modern Warfare 3 campaign on PS4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC. The new Call of Duty story mode has a November 2 release date and a 5pm GMT UK launch time. If you want early access to the Modern Warfare 3 campaign, you’ll need to pre-order a digital version of the game, which you can do by clicking one of the links below. Campaign early access is available with the Standard and Vault Editions of Modern Warfare 3, with multiplayer and Zombies launching on November 9.
If you want to start playing the moment the campaign goes live, pre-order customers can pre-load the story mode right now.
Players who complete the campaign can unlock a variety of rewards for use in multiplayer and Warzone.
Activision explains more: “The Campaign consists of 15 different missions. Almost every one of these missions rewards players with items upon completion, which can be used across Multiplayer, Zombies, and Call of Duty: Warzone.
“These are available to all players, regardless of whether the Campaign was played during Early Access or not.”
Rewards include the Breather Calling Card, new operators such as Corso, Pathfinder, Doc and Jabber, and multiple 30 minute double XP tokens.
A direct sequel to the iconic Modern Warfare 2, the campaign features the return of classic Call of Duty villain Vladimir Makarov.
“In the direct sequel to the record-breaking Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, Captain Price and Task Force 141 face off against the ultimate threat,” reads the official description.
“The ultranationalist war criminal Vladimir Makarov is extending his grasp across the world causing Task Force 141 to fight like never before.”
Multiplayer, on the other hand, features all 16 launch maps from the original Modern Warfare 2 in 2009.
According to Activision, the maps have been modernised with new modes and gameplay features. An additional 12 6v6 core maps will be available at later dates.
