Mauricio Pochettino reportedly has little interest in replacing Graham Potter at Chelsea, as the former Tottenham manager holds out for the Real Madrid job.

Potter was shockingly sacked on Sunday night, less than seven months after joining Chelsea from Brighton, following a 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa on Saturday that has left the Blues in the bottom half of the table.

The search for his successor has begun with Julian Nagelsmann the early frontrunner, with the former Bayern Munich boss said to be Todd Boehly’s No.1 target.

However, while the 35-year-old is interested in taking the reins at Stamford Bridge, he is in no rush to make a decision on his future having been dismissed by Bayern just over a week ago.

Pochettino is the next favourite, who has been out of work since leaving PSG last summer and is well-liked by Chelsea.

The Argentine, like Nagelsmann, is also heavily tipped to replace Antonio Conte at Tottenham.

However, according to TYC Sports via talkSPORT, Pochettino will snub any interest from the English clubs as he hopes to be appointed at Real Madrid if and when Carlo Ancelotti departs.

Though they can still win back-to-back Champions Leagues, Ancelotti’s future with Los Blancos looks very uncertain with the club 12 points behind arch-rivals Barcelona in La Liga.

The Italian has also been heavily linked with taking over the Brazil national team though he has reiterated that he will only leave Madrid when they make it clear they want him to go.

Pochettino has long been linked with Real and was tipped to leave Spurs twice to join the Spanish giants during his five-year spell with the Lilywhites.

Other names linked with Chelsea include ex-Spain boss Luis Enrique, Frankfurt’s Oliver Glasner and Sporting Lisbon’s Ruben Amorim.

In the meantime, Bruno Saltor will take charge of the Blues when they host Liverpool on Tuesday night.
