SHOCKING pictures have been released by police showing a mangled Maserati SUV.

The £70,000 motor crashed in Birmingham and the driver gave a positive breath test after being arrested.

The images show the smashed-up Maserati Levante after it destroyed a set of railings and collided with a traffic light pole.

West Midlands Police tweeted the pictures of the scene following Sunday morning’s (2nd October) crash as a warning.

They tweeted: “This is a good example of the dangers of drink driving.

“This Maserati Levante collided with crash railings at Bristol Street this morning.

“The driver received minor injuries & was arrested for a positive breath test then failed to provide a sample in custody. #DontDrinkDrive.”

People weren’t happy with the driver’s actions in the comments on Twitter, saying he had “more money than sense”.

Baz wrote: “Unreal, I hope these photos haunt him for years to come but I bet it’s not the first time he’s done it.”
