Mark Labbett says ‘weight is falling off’ despite still ‘loving cake’

Mark Labbett, 57, stunned the world with his dramatic weight loss transformation after dropping a massive 10st. Since then, The Chaser said that it is still “falling off” after he made a selection of lifestyle changes. Nevertheless, he still allows himself the odd treat when he fancies it.

Discussing his diet with Express.co.uk, Mark said: “I do like cake… I shouldn’t [eat much of it] but I kind of do.  

“The weight is just falling off me. I think it is a combination of a slightly richer, more high-protein diet with less carbs

“I reckon I probably eat about one third of what I used to eat but drink, as in fluids, three or four times what I used to; I drink a phenomenal amount of water and squash etc.”

Mark added that “running after [his] hyper-active five-year-old” son is also helping the weight to “fall off”.

He even said that sometimes he is too tired to eat at all, explaining: “The number of times I don’t have a meal in the evening because I am just too shattered to eat.

“It’s a bit of a virtuous cycle really because you’re losing weight so you’re feeling a bit more energetic and that encourages you.  

“And, it is fair to say, sugar is its own appetite so what I notice is that if you cut the sugar down then you just don’t want to eat as much.  

“Plus, there are little incidentals, it sounds silly but it’s suddenly gotten a lot easier to go up the stairs again or lift myself out of the bath because the knees aren’t having to do as much work.”

The Chase was also nominated for the Best Daytime award, but lost out to This Morning.

Some of the stars, including Mark, have also teamed up with Gala Bingo to launch the Cup of Tea experience this weekend.
