Mario Dumaual laid to rest in Marikina

Veteran entertainment journalist Mario Dumaual was brought to his final resting place in Marikina City last Sunday, July 9.

Dumaual, who died due to septic shock at the age of 64, was buried at the Loyola Memorial Park in Marikina, according to a TV Patrol Weekend report, which was attended by his loved ones and colleagues.

Prior to his burial, his wake was held from July 6 to 9 at the Loyola Memorial Chapels in Quezon City.

Dumaual’s son Miguel thanked the celebrities, journalists, well-known personalities, former media workers, and visitors who dedicated their time to pay their respects, per report.

“I’d like to thank everyone for being our source of strength during this time, and for making us feel loved and making us feel how much you loved Papa,” he said.

Among the celebrities spotted at Dumaual’s wake were Ara Mina, Patricia Javier, Marie Lozano, John Arcilla, Gary Valenciano, and P-pop groups BINI and BGYO, among many others.

The entertainment journalist’s death was confirmed by his family in an official statement on Facebook last July 5, after battling “severe fungal infection,” which is a “complication during his recovery from a heart attack.”

He is survived by his wife Cherie, his children Luigi, Miguel, Maxine, William, and Thessa, and his grandchildren Sky, Alonzoe, and Tali. EDV
