Manchester United ‘lead race’ for Boubacar Kamara and other transfer rumours

Manchester United are reportedly leading the race to sign Boubacar Kamara with AS Roma among those looking to sign the 22-year-old.

The Marseille midfielder is out of contract at the Ligue 1 club and is looking increasingly likely to be available on a free transfer in the summer.

In terms of the Reds, the midfield position is a priority in the summer transfer window and a list of targets is being finalised with the incoming manager having the capabilities to veto these.

Declan Rice was earmarked as a target in September and since Ralf Rangnick has taken interim charge of United, Amadou Haidara has been a player of interest.

But in recent months, the Frenchman, Kamara, has been frequently touted with a move to England and Old Trafford in particular.

La Gazzetta dello Sport via Get Football News Italy has claimed the Reds are going strong for Kamara and lead the race for his signature but Jose Mourinho’s side have direct contact with the player’s representatives and are keeping an eye on him.

Meanwhile, Donny van de Beek has reportedly been subject to interest from Crystal Palace and Valencia.

The Dutchman has struggled for playing time at Old Trafford and whilst his involvement in the first-team has been fraught, Rangnick remains reluctant to see him exit this month.

Despite this, Fabrizio Romano says that Eagles boss Patrick Vieira will push for a move but no option to buy clause will be included in any potential temporary deal with the Reds looking for Van de Beek to be involved next season.
