With Toffees stopper Jordan Pickford on the floor, the goal was left open but Wan-Bissaka could not sort his feet out, putting it wide.

Fans were left in shock over the miss, one said: “That is the worst miss I have ever seen.”

Another reacted: “Even Gary Neville would have put that one in.”

A third added: “How has he missed that?”

Some even demanded he leave the club: “Sell AWB now.”

More supporters even joked in relation to video games Fifa: “Wan-Bissaka was spamming the shoot button, forgetting that timed finishing was on.”

Later on in the game, Ellis Simms missed a big chance to put Everton ahead, dragging his shot wide as the poor finishing continued.

And the chances continued to be missed as Antony and Marcus Rashford could not convert great opportunities to score.
