Manchester United currently have no plans to offer Cristiano Ronaldo a coaching role at Old Trafford beyond his playing days, according to reports. Recent speculation appeared to suggest the Portuguese forward was keen on embarking in a coaching role with the Red Devils once he has called time on his playing career but as of now, United are yet to discuss the proposition.
Ronaldo signed a two-year deal with the option for an additional year upon his return to the club in August from Juventus.
The 36-year-old is yet to offer any indication that he will be retiring anytime soon and he believes he is only just getting started back at United.
He wants to win the biggest prizes at Old Trafford once again and realised the current project may take time before the team can deliver silverware.
Yet it appears Ronaldo is open to the idea of coaching one day.

United would even be willing to extend Ronaldo’s contract beyond three seasons, permitting the move suited both parties towards the end of his deal.
Ronaldo has continued to score at a prolific rate since returning to England, netting nine times in 11 outings this season.
His manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is optimistic Ronaldo will emulate his former team-mate Ryan Giggs, by playing on well into his 40s.
He said: “I wouldn’t be surprised if he still played when he was 40, not at all, because of the way he looks after himself. That’s the key to it – and of course some genes. There must be some genes as well, some DNA in there.
“His mentality is still absolutely spot-on and that’s a desire from inside that he’s going to keep going until his head says, ‘no, I’ve given everything now.’ Hopefully, it will last a few more years. Age is never a problem.”

Ronaldo was recently asked whether he’d consider international retirement in order to prolong his club career.
But CR7 did not appear to like the question as he vowed to fight on for Portugal after winning Euro 2016 and the 2019 Nations League.
He told Sky Sports: “I want to carry on because I like to play football and I feel good to make people happy.
Before adding, when other retired stars were referenced: “But why did they retire? I think it’s not my time yet.
“It’s not what people want, it’s what I want. It’s when I feel that I’m not capable to run, to dribble, to shoot, if the power is gone… but I still have that stuff so I want to continue because I’m still motivated.
“It’s the main word – [motivated] to do my stuff, to make people happy and my family happy and the fans and myself. I want to put the level even higher.
“You speak about Portugal but in the Champions League I have the most goals, the most wins, assists… everything. But I want to carry on. I like to play football. I feel good to make people happy.”
