Pep Guardiola has been told that Manchester City starlet Cole Palmer is ready to fit into any team after a dazzling individual performance in the FA Cup.
First up to the plate on Friday night, the Premier League champions swept aside League Two opponents Swindon on their way to booking a place in the fourth round draw.
That came despite a Covid-19 outbreak in the camp which forced Guardiola to stay at home.
Despite his absence and other fitness concerns, City named a star-studded XI at the County Ground – with Ruben Dias, Joao Cancelo, Kevin de Bruyne and Bernardo Silva among those to start.
However, with a goal and an assist, it was teenager Palmer who took centre stage to underline his talent.
The 19-year-old has drawn high praise from several pundits after that display – with talkSPORT host Dean Saunders adding his name to that particular list.
Speaking to the radio station on air, the former Wales international said: “The other night I thought he’s a player.

“I looked at him and thought, he’s quick, he’s coming inside and shooting with his left foot, he’s crossing it with his right foot. His decision making around the box when he’s playing with top players, his brain had to be on the same level as them, he was passing and moving and picking the right options out.
“It just looked to me as if this boy can fit in any team.”
