Man calling for boycott of Reliance products is not Himalaya Drug Co owner – Alt News

A two-minute-long video of a man delivering a speech on stage has been shared on social media. It has been claimed that this individual is the owner of the Himalaya Drug Company. He has also been identified as a Muslim. In the video, the man can be heard calling for a boycott of Jio phones and petrol pumps owned by Reliance.

The video is widespread on Facebook. “This Muslim man is the owner of the Himalaya company. Listen to what he says carefully. You have been warned. This company manufactures beauty products and Ayurvedic medicine. Circulate the call to boycott everything from its Liv52 syrup to hand sanitizer. Stop buying these yourselves and spread this message. The company will go into a loss instantly. What is the difference between this Muslim man and Zakir Naik? Nothing.”

That why it is said the only difference between a radical and a moderate muslim is the clothes they wear.

On the top right of the video, ‘Times Express Voice of Democracy’ logo can be spotted. This video was uploaded by the Times Express YouTube channel on January 26, 2020.

The video shows lawyer Bhanu Pratap Singh addressing a public protest in Mustafabad, Delhi after the Supreme Court’s hearing on CAA. Scenes from the viral video appear after the 4:36 mark. It is noteworthy that Bhanu Pratap Singh is also the President of the Rashtriya Janhit Sangharsh Party.

Singh argued that Reliance CEO Mukesh Ambani owns 68 news channels and the media is the government’s greatest strength. He calls for a boycott of Reliance products, arguing crony capitalism. It is noteworthy that Reliance Industries owns Network18.

The founder of the Himalaya Wellness Company was Mohammad Manal who passed away in 1986.

To sum it up, the man calling for a boycott on Reliance products is not the founder of Himalaya, but Bhanu Pratap Singh. The company is often targeted with communal misinformation some of which include – false claims that the owner of Himalaya said ‘Muslims first, Indians later’ and he asked the Muslim community to ‘snatch up all the jobs’, and the founders of the company are funding terrorist organisations.
