Words of support for Madonna are pouring in as the Queen of Pop recovers from a “serious bacterial infection” that her manager says has forced her to postpone her Celebration tour.
The tour, which was planned to begin in Vancouver in two weeks, is meant to span her entire career.
“On Saturday June 24, Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection which lead(sic) to a several day stay in the ICU,” manager Guy Oseary wrote in an Instagram post. “Her health is improving, however she is still under medical care.
“A full recovery is expected.”
Celebrities send well wishes for Madonna
Celebrities, including actress Zooey Deschanel, Gwendoline Christie of ‘Game of Thrones’ and RuPaul Drag Race judge Michelle Visage were among those who chimed in with well wishes.
“Hope she feels better very soon!” Deschanel commented on Oseary’s post, as Christie wrote “so much love.”
“TAKE GOOD CARE OF OUR QUEEN,” Visage pleaded.
Actresses Rita Wilson and Isla Fisher also sent their best.
“Sending Madonna my prayers for a speedy recovery,” Wilson wrote.
“Sending so much love from us,” Fisher wrote, with three heart emojis.
Oseary’s post further received words of support from Frankie Grande and Perez Hilton.
“Omg sending her love and healing light!” Grande wrote, while Hilton wrote with lightbulb emojis that he was also sending the singer light.
The Celebration Tour has been postponed
Oseary said in the post that all of Madonna’s commitments are on pause, and more details — including the new start date and rescheduled shows — will be shared as they become available.
In addition to the Vancouver show, the Celebration tour was scheduled to make two stops in Toronto and two stops in Montreal in August. It had shows planned in New York, Miami, Los Angeles and Europe.
