Liverpool are known to be in the market for a new midfielder after being hit by numerous injuries this season.

And Bellingham, 19, is reportedly at the top of Jurgen Klopp’s shopping list for next summer.

It’s reckoned the Reds will have to break the bank for his signature though.

That’s because Bellingham’s current club Borussia Dortmund value the ace at a whopping £130m.

But the Athletic claims Liverpool could have landed Bellingham almost a decade ago for a fraction of price.

The teenager was playing at Under-11 level when Liverpool invited him for a two-day trial at Kirkby.

Bellingham blew the coaches and scouts away with his talent.

And an offer quickly came in for the youngster to join Liverpool.

The grand total of the transfer would have come in at £9,000.

However, it required Bellingham’s family to swap the Midlands for Merseyside.

And after much deliberation, they decided to stay put in Birmingham.

It’s added that Liverpool respected the decision, and have been closely monitoring Bellingham’s progress ever since.

But there is added interest in Bellingham this time too.

Man United, Chelsea and Man City are all thought to be keen on striking a deal.

Bellingham has his admirers abroad too, with Real Madrid also considering a swoop.
