Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp’s half-time message against Man Utd after electrifying win
Jurgen Klopp has revealed that he told his Liverpool stars to ‘play better’ at half-time after the Reds scored five goals to down Manchester United in style on Sunday afternoon. Naby Keita and Diogo Jota found the target early on to give the visitors a quick-fire advantage before Mohamed Salah completed a wonderful hat-trick to cap off a ruthless team performance at Old Trafford.
Liverpool were at their brilliant best from the very first whistle, with United well off the pace even with Cristiano Ronaldo leading the line in attack.
The result marked the first time the Red Devils had lost by such a margin against Liverpool since 1895 and piled even more pressure on under-fire boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
However, it could not have been a better showing from the visitors, who maintained their unbeaten run in the Premier League and moved to within a point of early leaders Chelsea in the process.
Klopp was understandably beaming with delight at the full-time whistle and was spotted celebrating wildly with Liverpool’s travelling support in the immediate aftermath of proceedings.
