Kylie Verzosa could not contain her delight after she won the top acting honor at the Distinctive International Arab Festivals Awards (DIAFA) for her performance in the thriller film “The Housemaid.”

The actress-beauty queen accepted the best actress award donning a black and pink ball gown by Mark Bumgarner, as seen on Verzosa’s Instagram page on Saturday, Nov. 5.

“Dream come true… Such an honor to represent you again,” said the former Miss International winner in her post, adding a Philippine flag emoji.

During her acceptance speech, Verzosa expressed gratitude to everyone who supported her, and dedicated her award to her fellow Filipinos. A clip of her speech was uploaded by @pinaybeautyqueens, a fan account for beauty queens, on its Instagram page also on Saturday.

“Six years ago when I won the international title for the Philippines, it was such a joyous moment for me. Today, I feel like winning another crown, and this time, for Best Actress,” Verzosa stated.

“Nothing ever beats the feeling of winning something for your own country because of your own hard work,” she added.

“The Housemaid” is the Philippine adaptation of the South Korean film of the same name. It follows the story of a woman, portrayed by Verzosa, who works as a housemaid for an upper-class family and eventually gets involved in a love triangle. EDV
