The 42-year-old will be hitting the red carpet at the exclusive bash in a matter of hours, joining some of the biggest names in the industry at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, in New York.
This year’s event will be in honor of late designer Karl Lagerfeld, with the official theme confirmed as ‘Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty’.
Taking to Instagram, Kim offered up a glimpse into her build up to the big day, after her eldest daughter, nine, turned their swanky hotel room into a makeshift luxury spa.
We wouldn’t expect anything less.
In the brief video, white petals were strewn over the floor as flowers and candles covered every surface.
Huge silver balloons spelled out Karl Lagerfeld Met Gala, placed behind three matching massage tables.
Alongside the clip, the Skims designer proudly penned: ‘How sweet is North for surprising me tonight with this for us to relax before the Met.’
It was previously claimed that Kim and her famous family were sitting out the annual celebration after Vogue Editor Anna Wintour was said to be tightening up the guest list, but the reports were rubbished soon after.
Little else is known about the mom-of-four’s look, but she recently jetted out to Paris to get ‘inspiration’ for the gala at the late Chanel designer’s office.
Her controversial outfit for last year’s party caused outrage across the world and sparked a huge discussion when she opted for the actual gown Marilyn Monroe wore to serenade President John F Kennedy for his birthday in 1962.
Heading down the carpet, she explained that she lost 16lbs to fit into the outfit, as it could not be altered.
Following the party, Kim was forced to hit back at allegations that she had destroyed the gown after pictures appeared to show signs of damage and disrepair.
Addressing the outcry during an interview on the Today Show, she said: ‘No. Ripley’s [and I] worked together so well; there were handlers in gloves that put it on me.
‘It was such a process…I showed up to the red carpet in a robe and slippers, and I put the dress on the bottom of the carpet, went up the stairs … I probably had it on for three minutes, four minutes.
‘I respect [Monroe], I understand how much this dress means to American history.
‘And with the theme [of the Met Gala] being American, I thought, “What’s more American than Marilyn Monroe singing happy to the President of the United States?’
