Key OnePlus 9RT specs officially confirmed ahead of launch

TL;DR

  • OnePlus has confirmed several key specs for the OnePlus 9RT ahead of its launch.
  • The phone will use the Snapdragon 888 SoC, pack a 4,500mAh battery, and more.
  • Its launch is set for October 13 in China.

OnePlus has confirmed a flurry of key specs for its upcoming year-end flagship. The OnePlus 9RT is expected to debut later this week, but the company just couldn’t resist confirming the phone’s chipset, display, and more.

Per several recent posts on its Weibo page, OnePlus has confirmed that the 9RT will run the Snapdragon 888, not the Snapdragon 870 as previously rumored. This will be mated to LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. If you somehow run out of RAM, 7GB of that storage can be employed as virtual memory. All told, this combination should give the OnePlus 9RT sprightly performance akin to other devices in its series.

The OnePlus 9RT will also use a “straight” Samsung E4 AMOLED display with a 120Hz maximum refresh rate. OnePlus confirmed in a separate teaser that the display will support a 600Hz touch sampling rate. A 4,500mAh battery will power the device, while a 65W charging system will keep it topped up.

Finally, we can confirm that the OnePlus 9RT will feature a 50MP primary camera, as detailed by official renders on the phone’s launch site. The specs of its companion shooters remain unknown for now.

So that’s the core specs confirmed, but there’s plenty we don’t know about the 9RT. It’s also unclear where OnePlus will place this phone in terms of pricing. Thankfully, we don’t have to wait long for a confirmation. OnePlus will out its new device on October 13 in China.
