The distressed Welsh singer, 42, took to Twitter to complain about the airline, seemingly also accusing them of losing her luggage in the past.
She wrote to her 262,000 followers: ‘OMG! @British_Airways have lost my bags AGAIN!
‘I’m supposed to be singing tomorrow for the Pope’s Christmas concert in Rome. I feel so let down as I will not be able to perform. Please sort this out.’
Clearly eager to help the opera star, the official British Airways account replied asking her to send them a direct message so they could help trace her luggage.
However, some fans were confused as to how Katherine’s luggage had anything to do with her ability to perform at the annual concert.
One asked: ‘I know that must be really frustrating but why would it stop you performing?’
Another wrote: ‘I am sure they have some lovely curtains at the Vatican – I am sure you could improvise with them and you will still look gorgeous!’
A third added: ‘Love your voice, however, unless you’ve left it in your bags I’m sure you’ll still be able to perform.’
‘Was your voice in the case? Hope they can get it back for you,’ another joked.
Of course, Katherine also had a lot of people backing her, with one offering: ‘Come on BA. Sort this out. Your not only letting Katherine down also letting the pope down. It’s Christmas.
‘I would suggest staff not to leave airport until the bags have found. [Fingers crossed] that your bags get found soon Katherine can’t believe this has happened again for you.’
Another wrote: ‘Oh no! So sorry to hear that. Hope you are otherwise all right and your bags are located very soon.’
A final fan suggested that the Pope himself get involved with the drama, asking: ‘Is there anything the Pope can do Katherine? You’d think he’d have some sway.’
Speaking about how the festive period is a busy time for her, Katherine recently told Metro: ‘It’s a very busy time for me – there are a lot of concerts in the run-up to Christmas. Being so busy makes Christmas even more special as I can relax and spend the time with family. It’s all about making memories with family and friends.’
