Kanpur boy, Fatehpur girl top UP Board Class 10, 12 exams 2022 respectively – Times of India

LUCKNOW/PRAYAGRAJ: Prince Patel from Kanpur Nagar and Divyanshi from Fatehpur topped the UP Board Class 10 and 12 examinations, respectively. Both are students of private schools. The results were declared on Saturday afternoon.

A student of Anubhav Inter College, Kanpur, Prince secured 97.67% (586 out of 600 marks). Divyanshi, a student of Jai Maa SGM Inter College, Fatehpur, scored 95.4% (477 out of 500 marks).

The results showed improved pass percentages for both Class 10 and 12. In Class 10, 88.18% students — the highest in a decade (except 2021 when no exams are held) cleared the exam. The pass percentage for Class 12 was 85.33% — the best after 2016 (excluding 2021 when no exams were held).

In Class 10, as many as 27 students bagged the top 10 ranks.

The second rank was jointly shared by Sanskriti Thakur of SVM Inter College, Moradabad and Kiran Kushwaha from Shivaji Inter College, Kanpur. Both scored 97.5% marks. Kannauj’s Aniket Sharma stood third with 97.33% marks. He is a student of Saraswati Vidya Mandir Inter College.

As many as 28 students bagged top 10 ranks in Class 12. The second rank was jointly shared by Anshika Yadav of BRY Inter College, Prayagraj and Yogesh Pratap Singh of Sri Sai Inter College, Barabanki. They scored 95% marks. Balkrishna (94.2%) of SBM Inter College, Fatehpur, stood third.

Announcing the results, UP Secondary Education Board officiating chairperson Sarita Tiwari and officiating secretary Dibya Kant Shukla said girls again outnumbered boys in both classes. In comparison to 91.7% girls passing the Class 10 exams, 85.3% boys remained successful. In Class 12 too, 90.2% girl and 81.2% boys cleared the exams.


GB Nagar best in Class 10, Banda in Class 12
Gautam Budh Nagar (95.6%), Etawah (93.7) and Amethi (93.5%) were the best performing districts. Jhansi (79.8%), Shravasti (80.8%) and Hardoi (81.2%) had the worst performance in terms of percentage of students passing the exam. In Class 12, Banda (95.3%), Hamirpur (93%) and Lucknow (92.2%) were the top districts that recorded the highest percentage of passing students. Districts which had the lowest percentage of students clearing the exams were Ballia (72.7%), Deoria (74%) and Hathras (74.7%).


163 jail inmates clear Board exams

Among the jail inmates who appeared for Class 12 exams, 70% of them remained successful. In numbers, 68 out of 96 jail inmates cleared the exam. In Class 10, 92.2% jail inmates cleared the exam. In numbers, 95 were declared successful, out of 103 who appeared for it.
