Justin Bieber is set to perform at a memorial honoring rapper Takeoff, it has been claimed.

The Migos rapper was shot and killed last week, at the age of 28, while attending a private party in Houston.

Following his death, police officers have opened up an investigation to find those responsible, but have yet to share an update on their findings.

His family are hosting a celebration of life on Friday, at Atlanta’s State Farm, with the Baby singer among those set to appear.

According to TMZ, he will be taking to the stage at some point to pay tribute, but there are no details on what tracks he will be singing, or how long he will appear for.

The public memorial will be held in Atlanta at 12pm on Friday, with tickets available for fans in the area on Ticketmaster.

His family have asked that all guests adhere to a ‘strict no photo and no video policy’, and for donations to be made to the Rocket foundation in lieu of gifts or flowers.

Takeoff, real name Kirshnick Khari Ball, was a founding member of Migos, beside fellow bandmates Quavo and Offset.

The late star was attending a private party at a bowling alley last Monday night, joined by Quavo, when he was shot and killed.

Houston Police confirmed that he died at the scene, and pleaded for any information from others in attendance on what occurred.

During a press conference on Tuesday, Police Chief Troy Finner said: ‘Once officers arrived, they came upon a male who was deceased. That male has been identified as Kirshnik Ball, better known as Takeoff. He’s a member of the Migos rap group, out of Atlanta.

‘I got many calls from Houston, and outside of Houston. Everyone spoke of what a great young man this is, how peaceful he is. What a great artist. I’m calling upon everybody, our hip-hop artists in Houston and around the nation.

‘We’ve got to police ourselves. There are so many talented individuals, men and women, in that community, who I love and respect. We all need to stand together and make sure that nobody tears down that industry.’

‘I’m calling you to action, to step up. There were 40 people, at least, at this event,’ he added. ‘I ask you one thing, and I want this to resonate with everybody. What if it was your brother? What if it was your son? You would want somebody to step up, so please step up.

‘Get the information to us so we can bring some closure to this family who is hurting right now.’
