Janette Manrara to return to work just weeks after baby’s birth

Janette Manrara has confirmed she will return to work in the autumn just weeks after her due date.

The Strictly It Takes Two presenter opened up about her work commitments ahead of the baby’s arrival as the pro dancer admitted she had no plans to slow down.

Janette, who is a regular on the BBC’s Morning Live and co-presents podcast Twist and Shout with Aljaž Skorjanec, will return to her hosting gig on the Strictly spin-off series.

Joined by her new co-host Fleur East, the dancer’s beau, who quit Strictly last year, will be taking some time off for his daddy duties.

Speaking in a new interview with HELLO! magazine, Janette said: “Aljaž is going to step in and do daddy daycare and if he can’t I will take the baby to work with me.”

“I’ve changed nappies before,” says Aljaž, who has two young nieces in Slovenia.

“At the end of the day, it all comes down to how much you want to be involved. We’re lucky that I can take a step back from everything else and just be a dad for the time being.”

The TV personality took to Instagram today ahead of her appearance on BBC’s Morning Live.

In the candid video, Janette revealed she celebrated an impromptu baby shower on Sunday.

She gushed: “Yesterday, I had a surprise baby shower. It was beautiful. A lot of videos and photos to come. I didn’t post any because I was just enjoying the day. Then my phone died on the way back. But look who is joining me today at Morning Live?”

Janette then panned the camera across to her mum who was sitting in the back of the car with her after she flew in from Miami to surprise her daughter.

The video was captioned: “Surpise baby shower yesterday! Lots of vids and pics to follow. Just took it all in yesterday. And my mum flew in all the way from Miami as a surprise.”

She added: “Bring your mum to work day! See you at 9.15am!”
