James Middleton, 36, appeared on Good Morning Britain on Thursday to discuss his past mental health struggles.
The younger brother of Kate, Princess of Wales was accompanied by two of his dogs, Mabel and Isla.
Judi James, a body language expert spoke exclusively to Express.co.uk to analyse the 36-year-old as he spoke about his relationship with Kate.
She claimed: “It’s very unlikely that James would be on GMB without being a Middleton.
“So by huffing and blustering coyly when Kate’s name came up, he managed to appear both charming and bashful and disingenuous at the same time.”
As James was questioned by Kate Garraway and Ben Shepherd he looked surprised when asked about the Princess of Wales, according to the body language expert.
Judi suggested: “He didn’t appear to have any oven-ready quotes about Kate and the way he performed some eye cut-offs, acting distracted by the two thoroughly docile dogs, suggested embarrassment.
“James’s faltering word salad was talked over by the presenter, suggesting she felt embarrassed to be asking about Kate and felt the need to try to help dig James out of any hole.
“His verbal fillers came thick and fast as he told the audience twice in the manner of a scoop: ‘Look…she’s my sister’, even making a partial chopping gesture with one hand to seem to suggest that the subject was now closed.
“The 36-year-old’s shoulder and brow shrug seemed to make light of his royal connections.”
The body language expert explained the comment that James made which may have gone “too far”.
Judi opined: “His comment ‘I know all her quirks and everything’ might have been one comment too far about the woman who seems to spend much of her time as a royal trying to act totally quirk-free.”
James lives with his wife of nearly two years, Alizee Thevenet, in Berkshire where they are currently expecting their first child.
