Nicole Kidman, who is currently on a promotional campaign for her new film Being The Ricardos, in which she plays Lucille Ball, was quick to dismiss suggestions she was hinting at her marriage to ex-husband Tom Cruise while discussing the film in a new interview. The Bewitched actress was chatting about the “extraordinary relationship” between her character Lucille Ball and husband Desi Arnaz when the Mission Impossible actor was brought up.
The flick is based on the real-life actress who was married to the movie star from 1940 to 1960.
The 54-year-old touched on the couple’s relationship and how it identified with the idea of “falling in love with someone who isn’t going to be the person you spend the rest of your life with” in an interview with The Guardian.
The reporter then quizzed Nicole on whether she was drawing comparisons between her former relationship with ex-husband Tom Cruise, whom she was married to for 11 years before the latter filed for divorce in 2001.
In response to the question, a stunned Nicole replied: “Oh, my God, no, no. Absolutely not. No. I mean, that’s, honestly, so long ago that that isn’t in this equation. So no”

The reporter claimed that the Australian native became “angry” after her ex-partner’s name was mentioned in the interview.
Nicole had clearly taken offence to the implication she was alluding to her previous marriage, as she claimed that the question was “sexist” because she didn’t think the same would have ever been said to a man.
“And I would ask not to be pigeonholed that way, either,” she added.
“It feels to me almost sexist because I’m not sure anyone would say that to a man.”
In 2019, Nicole commented on the non-existent relationship she shared with her adopted children.
Both Isabella and Connor — like their father — are Scientologists.
When Isabella tied the knot with Max Parker in 2015, despite being in London on the West End, Nicole’s daughter did not extend an invite to her mum, even though the ceremony was held in the same city.
The Oscar winner was also rumoured to have been banned from Connor’s wedding when he married his fiancée Silvia in 2019.
Speaking of her strained relationship with her two adopted children, the mother of four shared: “They have made choices to be Scientologists.
“It’s our job as a parent to always offer unconditional love”.
By 2006, Nicole was ready to settle down again when she married country superstar Keith Urban.
The pair share two girls: Sunday, 13, and Faith, 11.
