Is ESPN down?

On January 10, 2022 there were reports of ESPN’s streaming service and website being down.

According to Downdetector over 500 reports came in of users having difficulty.

A total of 39 percent of reports were of users having trouble with ESPN’s streaming service.

32 percent of users had issues with their website itself, and 29 percent had issues with the ESPN app.

The peak of the outages occurred around 5.28pm the site reported.

How can I check if ESPN is down?

There are a few websites that run software to check when there are outages for certain sites.

Downdetector is one of those programs.

“This chart shows a view of problem reports submitted in the past 24 hours compared to the typical volume of reports by time of day. It is common for some problems to be reported throughout the day.

“Downdetector only reports an incident when the number of problem reports is significantly higher than the typical volume for that time of day,” their website clarifies.

Has ESPN been down before?

On the comment section of the site several users had indicated when ESPN had been down before.

10 days ago one user commented on ESPN being down.

“New Years Eve 2021, ESPN down bad,” the user wrote.

Just 19 days ago another user reported issues “before the Chelsea game.”

ESPN has not made any comments on the outages at this time.
