Iowa coordinator trolled with Cameos by Bob Stoops, Fran McCaffery
Brian Ferentz is getting the troll treatment.
The offensive coordinator for Iowa and son of head coach Kirk Ferentz was the subject of two savage videos on Cameo, presumably orchestrated by a fed up fan — or fed up fans — of the Iowa Hawkeyes.
The evil genius had former national championship head coach Bob Stoops and Iowa’s basketball coach Fran McCaffery read sympathy notes to “Brian” about still being supported by his father and Iowa in general.
“Listen, I know you’ve had a tough 2-3 years there, but the good news is your family still supports you buddy,” Stoops said in the video. “Especially your dad, he wants you to know that. Even though everyone else seems to be against you, sometimes the best advice is to break free from the family business. Go do what you gotta do.”
As Brett McMurphy of Action Network pointed out this week, Iowa has 14 points in two games this season — and 16 punts. The Hawkeyes are the only team in the country with more of the latter than the former.
Said McCaffery: “I wanted to reach out and let you know that all of us in the Hawkeye family are thinking about you. Your family loves you, your dad loves you, the Hawkeyes love you. Maybe think about making the move back to New England, but wherever you go, the Hawkeye family will always be with you. Go Hawks!”
Cameo, as you could probably surmise by now, is a platform where you can pay celebrities to deliver video notes to friends or loved ones — or, in this case, people you’re trolling.
It costs $250 to book Stoops and $50 to book McCaffery.
