Grand Theft Auto VI won’t be out for quite a while. However, one industry insider claims to know some details behind the game’s visuals, thanks to its new engine in RAGE 9.
Developers Rockstar Games have used RAGE for their in-house projects, which include franchises like Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption. Following the success of RAGE with GTA V and Read Dead Redemption, it has been rumored that RAGE will return for GTA VI as well.
GTA insider Chris Klippel recently tweeted about the Rockstar engine, by mentioning that it’s quite ‘incredible.’ He stated that he has received positive feedback from people who have seen and experienced it, and according to him, it seems like RAGE 9 will be ‘ahead of its time.’

In the replies to his original tweet, Klippel admitted that he hasn’t seen the game engine perform in person, and he has only heard them from other people. However, he noted that Rockstar Games have huge aspirations with the next-generation of RAGE to the point, where they believe that it can outperform Epic Games’ Unreal Engine as well.
With such huge goals in mind, it will be interesting to see what Rockstar Games can achieve, with regards to the scope of Grand Theft Auto VI, and as of right now, it seems like it’s going to be a while before we hear anything concrete about the much-hyped title.
