WE have seen plenty of changes to corporate logos in recent years but this is the first time a car firm has changed how you pronounce its name.
Hyundai is no longer Hy-un-dye but Hun-day.
OK, Hun. Whatever.
We don’t think Porsche really cares if you say “Porsh” or “Porshia” as long as you buy one.
Anyway, this is the Tucson (pronounced Too-sonn!) and no matter how you say it, it is still a brilliant do-it-all family SUV.
The cabin is brimming with tech and luxury – 10.25in screen, every collision alarm you can think of, clever parking assist, wireless phone charging and even heated rear seats.
It also feels bigger inside than it looks from the outside.
The boot gives you 616 litres of space so it’s perfect for lugging a family’s worth of stuff about the country.
Under the hood is a 1.6-litre hybrid petrol engine paired with smooth eight-speed auto which is 230hp and returns up to 49mpg.
The electric motor doesn’t have a great range but it seems to charge up faster than many similar hybrids and buzzing around town you find yourself using it more than you expect.
Perhaps the Tucson’s best feature is how it looks.
It’s a striking looking thing in a market known for homogeneity.
From the front, the toothy grille makes it look both menacing and upmarket.

Yes, it’s got all the trendy angular styling but it’s nicely done.
Of all the SUVs adopting this style, you feel like the Tucson won’t date as quickly as others.
It looks original. And in this market that’s important.
Hyundai enjoy relatively strong sales in the UK but they are hardly front of mind.
You probably enter the mid-size SUV market via a Nissan Qashqai or a Kia Sportage and then stumble across a Tucson.
If that’s you then you’ve probably done the right thing.
The Hyundai Tucson is definitely a contender for your cash.
However you want to say it.
