TV expert Kevin Walmsley from AO.com has revealed four top tips for your telly ahead of the FA Cup Final.

Check modes

Your TV has also sorts of modes suited to different types of content.

“There is nothing to worry about when fiddling with the settings on your TV, in fact this is encouraged,” Kevin said.

“A little known tip is to check your TV remote, as many remotes have a ‘Sports Mode’ option that brings out more colour and contrast.

“Make sure you enable this setting to get the most out of your set up.”

Lighting

Another tip is to create the right environment.

“With the final kicking off at 3pm, we can expect plenty of external light,” Kevin explained.

“However, you can reduce reflections by placing a lamp alongside or behind the TV.

“This handy tip will reduce eyestrain and increases TV picture contrast.”

Location

For the optimal viewing experience, you need to ensure the TV is placed perfectly.

“If re-positioning your sofa isn’t an option, look at moving your TV slightly,” Kevin goes on.

“As a rule of thumb, it is advisable to sit about 1.5 times the screen’s diagonal measurement away.

“For 4K TVs that figure is reduced by half.”

Sound

To really feel the match it’s not always about what you see – getting the sound right also makes a big difference.

So make use of a soundbar or even external speakers if you have one rather than relying on the TV’s built-in sound system.
