If you own these iPhones you can get blockbuster Apple update before anyone else

Fancy testing out some blockbuster iPhone features before they officially launch? That’s exactly what Apple is offering users thanks to the release of its iOS 17 public beta. This early version of the firm’s next big release is now available to download and that means you can test out upgrades such as StandBy Mode, Live Stickers and new Personalised Contact Posters.

iOS 17 was actually revealed early last month at Apple’s WWDC Developers Conference in Cupertino California and won’t arrive on devices until the autumn.

However, Apple always releases this early beta version in a bid to iron out any unforeseen bugs and glitches before the software is pushed out to millions of iPhones across the planet.

“Help make the next releases of iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS, watchOS and HomePod software our best yet. As a member of the Apple Beta Software Program, you can take part in shaping Apple software by test-driving pre-release versions and letting us know what you think..” Apple confirmed on its site.

It is worth highlighting that this isn’t the finished version with Apple advising that users are best to download the update onto a secondary device rather than their main iPhone.

This should avoid any nightmares of crashes or glitches appearing just as you are about to make an important call or send a vital email.

So how do you get iOS 17 on your iPhone today?

To get iOS 17 simply head to Apple’s website and follow the instructions to sign up for its Beta Software Program. The process doesn’t take long and you’ll soon find your iPhone is running with all the shiny new updates announced last month.

iOS 17 isn’t compatible with the same list of devices as iOS 16 so not everyone will get access to it including those with an iPhone 8 or iPhone X.

The Messages app is improved thanks to a less cluttered look and the addition of Check In which sends an instant text when you arrive home safely so friends know you are OK.

Other extras launching in September include a new Journal app, fun animated reactions in FaceTime calls and Contact Drop which lets you share details with other iPhone owners by simply tapping the devices together.
