A MUM has revealed how she visited the “Maldives of Europe” and why she fell in love with the place.
For many, the white sandy beaches and clear blue waters make the Maldives a bucket list destination. But getting there isn’t always so easy.

Flights are both long and expensive, meaning people end up searching for alternatives closer to home instead.
However, parent and Tiktoker The Travel Mum (@thetravelmum) revealed how easy it is to get to somewhere with similar sights on offer, without having to leave Europe.
In a video, she explained how to get to Ksamil in Albania, which she referred to as the “Maldives of Europe” and exactly what visitors can expect.
Her footage has been viewed more than a million times on Tiktok, with her and her family seen enjoying sandy beaches with turquoise waters, as well as deep orange sunsets from their hotel balcony.
What’s more, the beach was very quiet, meaning her holiday looked peaceful and relaxing.
People were impressed by what they saw in the video and said they would consider visiting themselves.
One wrote: “Wow somewhere I had never thought of visiting. Going to look into the country more.”
Another simply added: “Looks amazing.”
However, a third was worried about how difficult it would be to get there, asking: “How do you get there though? Is it super complicated?”
In a separate video, the mum explained how she got there quite easily.
She said: “We keep hearing about the Maldives of Europe, so let’s check it out.
“There’s a few things we need to do to get there, the first one being get a flight to Corfu.

“Now that we’re in Corfu we’re heading to the port and getting a ferry across to Sarande in Albania.
“We’ve prearranged car hire so we can now drive the 25 down to our final destination in Ksamil.”
As well as the resort and how simple it was to get there, the Tiktoker was also delighted with how affordable it was to find conveniently-located accommodation.
She continued: “We’ve booked a central two bedroom apartment for just £190 for six nights.
“It’s a great base for enjoying the many beautiful beaches, but also exploring some great places close by.
“We’ve just spent £5 at the supermarket to feed five people.
“We are absolutely in love with Albania.”
For those not interested in getting a ferry from Corfu, there’s an even easier way to reach Ksamil from the UK.
Flights are quicker than the Canaries as it takes just three hours to get to there.
Direct routes link Albania with London, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol and Newcastle.
