A DRIVER was fined when McDonald’s claimed he spent more than 14 hours in the drive-thru.
Ben Butler-Sutton, 32, claims he only spent around 20 minutes getting his Big Mac and McChicken Sandwich meal.

But parking firm UKPC registered him as leaving at 8.22am the next day, 14 hours and 26 minutes after he arrived at the branch in Killingbeck, West Yorkshire.
It insisted he pays a fine as a result for overstaying the allowed parking time.
Customer service manager Ben, of Leeds, said: “I enjoy an occasional McDonald’s and I know their drive thru can be slow.
“On this occasion there was a wait but it certainly was 14 hours and 26 minutes.
“Watch out for these. Their camera must be broken.”
He added: “I like to expose incompetence, bad driving and general stupidity – this is like Christmas.”
Ben is appealing the fine and says he has CCTV of his driveway for evidence that his car was not at the drive-thru.
Others complained online about similar issues at the branch and suggested the cameras must be broken.
McDonald’s and UKPC have been approached for comment.
In August a pensioner was fined £100 when a queue of delivery driver’s delayed his group’s food at a different branch.
Alan Bullock, 79, took his wife Jo, 79, and their 83-year-old friend to the fast food chain on 14 July for an enjoyable day out, but ended up with the hefty fine for outstaying the car park’s maximum limit.
lan, from Redbourn, Hertfordshire, told The Sun that he took the group on a trip out to the local restaurant “as I have regularly done before.”
When the trio arrived, they found that the self-service machines would not accept their discount vouchers and so they went to order at the till.
According to Alan, the restaurant was packed with “a lot of delivery meal drivers”, which delayed their food’s arrival for some time.
The group ordered a main, dessert and coffee at intervals.
All in all they had a hearty meal for just £15, but their stay at the restaurant lasted almost 2 hours because of service delays.
A week later Alan was slapped with a parking fine for overstaying the time limit in the McDonald’s car park by just 19 minutes.
He insisted the delay in service meant the 90-minute maximum stay was not enough time to “eat in comfort”.
